Agricultural Data Scientist and Developer $124,259 – $130,259 per year Position Summary Hawaii Farming LLC seeks an Agricultural Data Scientist and Developer to apply advanced statistical and data analysis methods to the farm's agricultural datasets to improve farm-wide outcomes. Duties & Responsibilities -Developing models for forecasting crop yields, assessing fertilizer formulas, chemistry lab results, and pest/disease risks to enhance operational efficiency. -Designing and implementing data-driven tools to optimize planting schedules, irrigation strategies, seed selection, and labor deployment. -Integrating multiple data sources—including weather, chemical analysis, HR, and historical crop data—for advanced analytics. -Developing scalable web and mobile software to support fast data entry, dashboard reporting, and decision support. -Collaborating with agronomists, operations, food safety, and lab teams to ensure tools align with field needs. -Staying informed on advancements in agricultural technology, data engineering, and analytics to support sustainability and continuous improvement. Requirements Education / Experience: 48 months (4 years) of experience in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a closely related field, or a foreign equivalent. Occupational Experience: Experience must be in the position of Software Developer, Data Scientist, or a related occupation involving software and data development. Special Skills: Experience must include work with SQL and database integration, statistical modeling, AppSheet, Google Apps Script, Microsoft Power BI, BigQuery, Looker Studio, and the development of software for web and mobile platforms.
